Setting Up Your Home Office
When you are working from home, other people don’t understand that your work at home time is more important than your work
at a job time. At your job, you may be paid for unproductive work, but at home, your income is
totally dependent on your own efforts.
Just set clear office hours and let your family know it’s important to you that they respect those hours. You also need to work during those hours and not change your plans all the time.
Spend some time setting up your office. Proper organization will help you make
more sales. In my experience, over 50% of potential sales are lost due to improper organizational
skills.
You absolutely must get organized. This is a business, and you need to understand that you need to work harder for
yourself than you would for any boss. The better organized you are, the more successful you will be. Invest in a filing system.
I would recommend a
small filing cabinet that can be easily accessible from your desk. You will also need a couple of printer cartridges to print your
leads and marketing ebooks you will buy. I suggest using the "draft" setting on your printer to save ink.

Personally, I have a monochrome laser printer. The ink does not smudge and the usage costs on laser printers end up
being much lower. There are now even lower-cost color laser printers. (But make sure you check the size before you order. Some
of them are gigantic!)
If you still need help getting organized, and you would like to use a system that is explictly laid out, this book provides
one very clear system. It also has some PDF checklists to make your life easier:
